- Unlock and look at the window, loosening the hinge screws to see if it works smoothly.
- Change the hinges’ position to improve the smoothness of the window, and retighten the screws.
- With the window locked, look at the seal around the sash perimeter, marking the start and end points of the gaps on the window jamb.
- Unlock and open. Then, use weather stripping to the jamb at the points where you marked the gap. Make sure the stripping’s front side is facing the home’s exterior. Cut weather stripping and use a utility knife to close the gap, then shut the window.
